Chromaline Pro/Cap 30 Capillary Film is a professional pre-sensitized diazo stencil film designed for screen printers who require consistent stencil thickness, excellent image definition, and dependable durability throughout demanding production runs.
At 30 microns (1.2 mil) thick, Pro/Cap 30 provides a controlled stencil profile while eliminating many of the variables associated with manually coating screens with liquid emulsion. The film's uniform coating helps produce smooth, consistent stencil surfaces from screen to screen, improving repeatability and overall print quality.
Pro/Cap 30 provides superior film penetration and adhesion to properly prepared screen mesh. Once applied and processed correctly, the film produces sharp stencil edges and excellent image reproduction, making it particularly well suited for detailed graphics, decals, large-dot halftones, and other applications requiring controlled ink deposit and dependable image quality.
Chromaline recommends Pro/Cap 30 for 305 mesh and finer applications. Its 30-micron thickness is especially well suited for approximately 55 LPI halftones, fine graphics, decals, and heavier-deposit UV printing applications.
The pre-sensitized diazo chemistry eliminates the need to manually add or mix sensitizer before use. Screens can be prepared by applying the capillary film to properly cleaned and wetted mesh, allowing capillary action to draw the stencil material into the mesh and create a consistent stencil profile.
Pro/Cap film is designed for compatibility with plastisol and solvent-based ink systems. Its workhorse durability makes it an excellent choice for production environments where screen printers need dependable stencil performance while maintaining fine image definition over extended print runs.
This 13" x 16" version is supplied as 100 pre-cut sheets per box, eliminating the need to measure and cut film from a roll. The convenient sheet format helps reduce handling time and film waste while providing consistent sizing for repetitive screen-making applications.

- Handle Pro/Cap film under yellow or subdued lighting because the pre-sensitized film is light sensitive.
- Thoroughly clean and degrease the screen mesh before applying the film.
- Make sure the mesh is uniformly wetted before positioning the capillary film.
- Apply the emulsion side of the film to the wet printing side of the screen.
- Use a squeegee to remove excess water and establish uniform contact between the film and mesh.
- Allow the screen to dry completely in a clean, dark environment before removing the polyester carrier sheet.
- Remove the carrier only after the stencil is completely dry.
- Use an exposure calculator or exposure test to determine the correct exposure for your mesh, light source, and production environment.
- Wash out the exposed screen carefully to maintain fine detail and sharp stencil edges.
- Completely dry the finished stencil before beginning production.
- Store unused Pro/Cap film in its original container away from direct light.
- Store film at room temperature and avoid temperatures above 80°F (27°C) or below 32°F (0°C).
- Keep unused film protected from UV light and other sources of actinic light.
- Proper mesh preparation is critical for maximum film adhesion and stencil durability.
