Overview
The M&R DS-4000 Digital Squeegee is a hybrid printing system that sits between direct-to-garment and screen printing. Your automatic press lays down a screen-printed white underbase, then the DS-4000 prints a full-color CMYK image on top of it. M&R rates it at up to 400 prints per hour, with 16 industrial printheads printing a full-size image every 4 to 6 seconds.
Because the underbase is screen printed, there's no pretreatment and no expensive digital white ink. An eight-to-twelve-color design can be set up with a minimal number of screens, with no separations or custom ink mixes, which cuts art and setup time. The same white underbase can carry different digital images in one run.
The DS-4000 mounts on M&R's Stryker oval press and the Challenger III and Gauntlet III automatics. Prints work on cotton, polyester, tri-blends and performance fabrics, can be combined with specialty effects before or after the digital print, and cure in conventional gas conveyor dryers such as the M&R Sprint 3000.
